DWU women’s golf tied for 20th after two rounds at NAIA championships
LINCOLN, Neb. — The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s golf team slipped one spot down the leaderboard in the second round of the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships Wednesday.
The Tigers sit in a tie for 20th in the team standings, after coming into the day tied for 19th. DWU will play in the third round today at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb. and will look to move up the leaderboards, as the top 17 teams will play in the final round Friday after a cut is made. The team carded a 337 in the second round and have a two-round total of 669.
Senior Chelsea Burback leads the Tigers after an 81 Wednesday placed her in a tie for 41st in the individual standings. Sophomore Lauren Fitts is tied for 72nd after climbing 29 spots with a second-round 81.
The Tigers are six strokes back of three teams tied for 16th.
