DWU women's golf team takes fourth at Mount Mercy

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Dakota Wesleyan University women's golf team finished fourth at the Mount Mercy Invitational Saturday.

Wesleyan shot 665 as a team, shooting 340 in the first round Friday and 325 in the second round Saturday.

Grand View University, of Iowa, took first place with a team score of 655. Mount Mercy and William Penn both shot 657 to finish in a second-place tie.

Lauren Fitts was DWU's highest finisher. She shot a 163 in two rounds to take eighth place. Talia Peters shot a 165 to finish tied for ninth.

Jenna Winckler and Chelsea Burback also finished in the top 25. Winckler shot a 170 to finish tied for 21st and Burback shot a 171 to finish tied for 23rd.

The Tigers take the course again Saturday at Augusta College in Sioux Falls.
