Freshman forward and Parkston native added 15 points, while Mitchell native Taylor Piper scored 11.

“She (Hart) is shooting the ball well right now for us,” DWU women’s basketball coach Jason Christensen said. “She is a good shooter and for us to win basketball games we need our shooters to score.”

The Tigers were 24-for-54 from the field, including 10-22 from behind the 3-point line.

Hart and Micaela Erickson each had a team leading eight rebounds for DWU, who out rebounded Park 45-42.

“I thought our kids played with a lot of effort today,” Christensen said. “We shot the ball well again. Park provided some tough matchups for us but I thought we did a good job with that too.”

Lauren Maclin recorded a double-double to lead Park. She was 7-of-13 from the field for 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Sydney Heard added 12 points.

DWU (2-0) hosts Presentation College at 6 p.m. Tuesday in its home opener at the Corn Palace.
