Reed finished the game with 29 points and 18 rebounds. Both totals were team-highs. Smith added 28 points for Doane, which shot 31-of-59 from the field and 14-of-17 from the free-throw line.

"They have two very good offensive players," DWU men's basketball coach Matt Wilber said. "We just couldn't get them stopped. Domonique got going in the first half and Nick got going in the second half and down they stretch we could slow them down."

Wesleyan was led by Jalen Voss and Trae Bergh. Voss scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Bergh added 20 points and five rebounds. DWU guard Tate Martin chipped in with 10 assists.

DWU (13-11, 6-8 GPAC) held a 44-39 lead at halftime, but its offensive output slowed in the second half, while Doane's increased. Wesleyan shot 33 percent in the second half and Doane shot 60 percent.

"We played a really good half the first half offensively," Wilber said. "We were getting good looks and we made the shots, but In the second half we just didn't shoot it as well."

Wesleyan travels to face Morningside Monday in Sioux City, Iowa.
