LAKE ANDES -- The court trial for a Lake Andes man accused of vehicular homicide and first-degree manslaughter has been continued to July.
Ronald Ray Fischer Jr., 29, is accused of driving drunk on July 8 and running into two pedestrians in a hotel parking lot in Pickstown. U.S. Fish & Wildlife employee Dr. Robert Klumb, 46, of Pierre, and his colleague Maegan Spindler, 25, of Cazenovia, N.Y., were killed as they packed their boat.
Fischer earlier waived his right to a jury trial and requested a bench trial, which was set for April.
A court order was filed Feb. 24 to set a new date for the end of July.
