Armour - Doris Storm, 76, died at Lake Andes Health Care Center in Lake Andes, SD on July 29, 2014. Funeral service will be Friday, August 1, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church near Armour with burial following in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery near Armour. Visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 5- 8 PM at Koehn Bros. Fuernal Home in Armour with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.
Doris Louise Storm was born July 16, 1938 in Douglas County, SD to Ervin and Regina (Blume) Grosz. She grew up on the family farm east of Armour, graduated from Armour High School. She then attended Springfield College where she earned her teaching certificate. She taught school for 5 years in Douglas County. She married Stanley Storm on May 28, 1960. To this union was blessed with 3 children, Audrey, Carmen, and Jeffery. They farmed together for 52 years and 30 of those years she worked full time at Armour Schools. After she retired for Armour School, they continued to farm until they moved into Armour in 2011, then in 2012 they moved to Lake Andes Health Care Center. Stanley passed away on January 17, 2014. Doris was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church near Armour and VFW Auxiliary. She loved gardening, canning, sewing, raising and butchering chickens, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She went peacefully to her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Lake Andes Health Care Center in Lake Andes, SD at the age of 76.
Grateful for having shared her life are 3 children, Audrey (Dale) Petrik of Wagner, SD, Carmen (Jeffrey) Doering of Yankton, SD and Jeffrey Storm and friend Pam of Custer, SD, 5 grandchildren, Jeremiah (Melanie) Weerheim, Corey (Laine) Weerheim, Mindy Doering, Amy Doering and Brody Storm, two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Abigail Weerheim, 2 sisters, Janett (Herb) Uttecht and Connie (Larry) Miller, brother, Ron Grosz, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley of 53 years, parents, Ervin and Regina Grosz, sister-in-law, Deborah (Dedra) Grosz.
