The Rapid City Journal reports the bids for the demolition project open Wednesday.

The terminal must be turn down because it is falling apart and violates regulations from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Toni Broom is the airport's public information officer. Broom says private and corporate aircraft will be allowed to park in that space.

Boom adds that areas of the building were condemned years ago and it is also past the building-restriction line set by the FAA.

The newspaper reports the project is expected to cost around $2.8 million.
