Death of Rapid City man labeled a homicide
RAPID CITY (AP) — Rapid City police say the death of a man who was found in an alley behind a bar is being investigated as a homicide.
Authorities say 44-year-old Lamaure Afraidofhawk was found Tuesday night by officers who were called to the Brass Rail to arrest an unwanted person causing a disturbance and refusing to leave.
Afraidofhawk was pronounced dead at a hospital. Police say preliminary results from an autopsy indicate that he died from a blow to the head.
Police did not immediately make any connection between the man found in the alley and the 19-year-old arrested for resisting arrest and unlawfully drinking alcohol.
