Daugaard urges recognition of military service
PIERRE (AP) — South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard says people should take time in May to recognize those who have served in the U.S. military.
May is National Military Appreciation Month.
The governor says it's a time to "honor, remember, recognize and appreciate those who have served in the past and those now serving, as well as their families."
The month includes Victory in Europe Day on May 8, Military Spouse Appreciation Day on May 9, Armed Forces Day on May 17, and Memorial Day on May 26.
