Darlene LeAnn (Claussen) Frank 77, of Sioux Falls, (formally of Mitchell) died Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Golden Living Manor, AseraCare Hospice in Sioux Falls. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Will Funeral Chapel with a visitation one hour prior, Reverend John Hanson will be officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell.

Darlene was born on August 16, 1936 to Alvin D. and Mary J. (Seiders) Claussen in Mitchell. She graduated from Mitchell High School (Old Notre Dame) in 1954. In 1955, she married Raymond R. Frank in Laverne, Minnesota. They lived in Wessington Springs for a short time before moving to Mitchell to raise their five children Steven, Mitzi, Tyra, and twins Karla and Karie. Darlene moved to Sioux Falls shortly after the death of her husband in 1982. She lived for several years with her husbands cousin lovingly referred by Darlenes children as "Aunt Marge" Holtman.

During her time in Sioux Falls, Darlene served as a Nanny for Drs. Robert Smith and Julie Reiland for over twenty years, helping to raise their daughters Caity and Carolyn, and sons Ian and Nathan.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her sisters-in-law, Lucille Frank of Wessington Springs and LaNette Claussen of Folsom, CA; siblings, Donna (Roy) Tiede of Surprise, AZ, Lloyd (Janice) Claussen of Mitchell, and Lois Town of Globe, AZ; children, Steven (Kathie) Frank of Mitchell, Mitzi Frank of Torrington, WY, Tyra (Kevin) Roberts, Karla Frank, and Karie Frank all of Sioux Falls; two grandsons, Andrew Frank of Mitchell and Austin Roberts of Sioux Falls along with several nieces and nephews.

Darlene is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husband Ray, and his parents, Herbert Frank and Ida (Gillette) Frank, her brother, Arthur Claussen and her brothers-in-law, Donald Brown, Rex Town, Howard and Eugene Frank, and sister-in-law, Phyllis Frank.
