Dakota Rising in Charles Mix Co. will get entrepreneur program
Southern Charles Mix Dakota Rising, a group organized to promote and lead the Dakota Rising program in southern Charles Mix County, has been chosen as a new community site for the state’s entrepreneur development program.
Dakota Rising, an economic development and community enhancement program of Dakota Resources, was created to build economic partnerships and assist local entrepreneurs to develop their small businesses as a path to a stronger regional economy.
Southern Charles Mix Dakota Rising is comprised of Wagner, Dante, Marty, Pickstown and Ravinia. As a Dakota Rising community site, Southern Charles Mix Dakota Rising will participate in a statewide learning community working together to share best practices around entrepreneurship cultivation.
A local resource team, led by community site coordinators Kelsey Doom and Florence Clairmont, will also have access to more intentional, specialized resources to foster regional entrepreneurship.
Southern Charles Mix Dakota Rising will now work with Dakota Resources staff to encourage local candidates to apply for the Rural Entrepreneur Fellowships. Candidates, whose businesses must be located within the community site and be beyond a start-up phase of development, will be required to submit a business and a professional plan for development.
