• Emanuel Bordeaux, 33, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to unauthorized ingestion of a controlled substance, hydrocodone; Judge Tim Bjorkman ordered a presentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for August.

• Zach Wharton, 25, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to unauthorized ingestion of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; Judge Tim Bjorkman ordered a presentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for August.

• Andrew Spotted Elk, 25, of Mitchell, pleaded no contest to aggravated assault; Judge Tim Bjorkman ordered a presentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for August.

• Joyce Lucas, 54, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to simple assault against a law enforcement officer; Judge Tim Bjorkman ordered a presentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for August; Bjorkman also agreed to her release from jail as long as she stays on her medication and follows the 24/7 Sobriety Program.

• David Larvie Jr., 23, of Mitchell, pleaded not guilty to four counts of second-degree burglary; Judge Tim Bjorkman scheduled a jury trial for October.

• Christopher Sudbeck, 39, of Mitchell, pleaded not guilty to ingesting an intoxicant other than alcoholic beverage and denied a probation violation on a 2012 possession of controlled substance conviction; Judge Tim Bjorkman scheduled the new charge for jury trial in October and the probation violation matter for a hearing in August.

• Steven Weber, 22, of Yankton, denied he violated his probation on a drug possession conviction from 2012; Judge Tim Bjorkman scheduled the matter for an August hearing.

• Joel Garcia, 27, of Mitchell, received a two-week continuance and his attorney, Donna Bucher, will request an interpreter for the next hearing.

• Brady Bushby, 25, of Mitchell, was sentenced to a three-year suspended prison term for possession of a controlled substance conviction; Judge Tim Bjorkman sentenced him to 90 days in jail, with credit for 54 days already served, $1,102.78 in fines and costs, and repay court appointed attorney fees.

• Amy Demaranville, 43, of Mitchell, was sentenced 180 days in jail for violating her probation; Judge Tim Bjorkman upheld his previous judgment of a three-year suspended prison term and agreed to the state’s recommendation of placing her in the drug court program; Bjorkman extended Demaranville’s probation until July 2019 and gave 30 days of jail time for drug court officials to use at their discretion.
