Funeral Services for Cindy Nikodym, age 55 of Sioux Falls, SD will be held on Friday, July 18, at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Gregory, SD. Burial will follow Bohemian National Cemetery of Gregory.

Cynthia Jo (Karl) Nikodym was born on February 22, 1959 to Elmer and Kay (Snider) Karl of Gregory. Cindi graduated from Gregory High School in 1977

and in 1978 began working for Karls TV and Appliance.

On July 22, 1978 she was united in marriage to Roger Nikodym in Gregory. To this union three children were bornMatthew, Ariann, and Adam. In 1981 Cindi and Roger moved to Armour where together they ran Nikodym Oil. In 1987 the family moved back to Gregory and she again worked for Karls Inc. In 1993 they moved to Sioux Falls where she continued working for Karls Inc. Cindi recently celebrated 25 years working for Karls Inc. and was a vice president in the company.

Cindi found joy in gardening, cooking, traveling with her husband, family vacations, and holiday traditions. Family time was important to Cindi and her five grandchildren were the light of her life. Jackson, Derek, Ryan (Matthew), James, and Josephine (Ariann) never failed to bring a smile to her face and a twinkle to her eye.

Cindi passed away surrounded by her family on July 15, 2014. Cindi lost her well fought and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 55. The family would like to express a special thank you to all of Cindis Caring Bridge followers, friends, and supporters for their love and encouragement these last four and a half years. Also to the many wonderful people at Sanford Health for the loving care they provided.

She is survived by her husband Roger of Sioux Falls, SD; three children Matt (Jessica) Nikodym of St. Cloud, MN, Ariann (Dan) Lenihan of Omaha, NE, and Adam Nikodym of Sioux Falls, SD; five grandchildren; her parents Elmer and Kay Karl of Gregory, SD; a brother Mike (Joni) Karl of St. Cloud, MN; a sister Sandi (Jay) Wernke of Gregory, SD; mother-in-law Betty Nikodym of Sioux Falls, SD;Swedish sister Annelie Strath; and many well-loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Edward and Mary Karl, grandparents Kenneth and Josephine Snider, father-in-law Emil Nikodym, and brother-in-law Rick Nikodym.
