Christmas Eve crash sends SD escapee back to prison

RAPID CITY (AP) — A South Dakota prison inmate who went missing for six months is back in custody.

Thirty-nine-year-old Cleveland Roubideaux left a minimum-security prison in Rapid City on work release June 25, 2013, but didn't show up at his job. He wasn't apprehended until Dec. 24, following a car crash near Martin.

Roubideaux is serving a 10-year sentence for drunken driving convictions in Pennington County.
