SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Some South Dakotans might run into some rain or bad weather as they head to the polls Tuesday for the primary election.

Meteorologist Jennifer Hacker with the National Weather Service says there's a good chance of showers and thunderstorms across the southern half of the state. They're expected to start in the southwest and south-central in the morning and move into the southeast by late afternoon.

Hacker says the best chance of severe weather runs from the Black Hills through Winner and then into Yankton and Sioux City, Iowa. She says large hail is most likely but an isolated tornado also can't be ruled out.

And some parts of the southeast could see some local flooding because the ground is quite saturated from the recent rains.
