Mitchell graduate Berkley Rietveld finished in the top 40 of the women’s 800-meter run at the Wildcat Classic in Wayne, Neb., last weekend. Rietveld, a freshman, recorded a time of 2 minutes, 33.72 seconds in the event, which included several Division I and Division II runners.

Mount Marty travels to Sioux Center, Iowa, for the Dordt Invite on Saturday.

Bormann helps Vikings to second-place finish

Augustana College freshman golfer Jordan Bormann helped the Vikings to a second place finish at the Otter Invitational in Seaside, Calif., March 25. The Parkston native finished 60th overall at the tournament with a score of 172 over two days.

Augustana is in action at the Wayne State Invitational Saturday in Wayne, Neb.

Kraft wins steeplechase

Wessington Springs native Mitch Kraft continues his strong senior year running for the Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets. Kraft led the way for

BHSU at the Yellow Jacket Spring Invitational over the weekend, taking first in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:35.20 in the first meet of the team’s outdoor season.

BHSU heads to the University of Nebraska-Kearney Open Saturday in Kearney, Neb.

Doom finishes top 10

at Wildcat Classic

Jilanne Doom, a senior on the University of South Dakota women’s track and field team, finished sixth overall in the women’s 1,500-meter run at the Wildcat Classic in Wayne, Neb., over the weekend. The former three-sport standout for Wagner High School finished the race with a time of 4:54.23 in a field of more than 50 runners.

Doom and the Coyotes compete at the Dakota Duals starting Friday in Yankton.

Also competing in the 1,500 meters at the Wildcat Classic was Northern State’s Whitney Kuyper. Kuyper, a native of Stickney, finished 30th with a time of 5:17.96.

The Wolves travel to Sioux Falls for the Vance Butler Relays Saturday hosted by Augustana.
