Cash stolen from lottery machines at Howard bar
HOWARD -- An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from two lottery machines around 3 a.m. Sunday at the Longbranch Bar in Howard, according to Miner County Sheriff Larry Klinkhammer.
The burglar, or burglars, attempted but failed to break into Maroney's Bar around 3:55 a.m. after successfully breaking into the Longbranch Bar, Klinkhammer said. Both bars are located on Howard's Main Street.
The incidents are still under investigation and no suspects have been identified, Klinkhammer said.
Since the incidents, there have been no other reports of burglaries in the area, Klinkhammer said, but anyone who notices suspicious activity in the area should contact the Miner County Sheriff's Office at (605) 772-4501.
