Carthage to present annual melodrama next weekend
CARTHAGE -- The 11th annual Carthage community melodrama, "Avarice in Ambrosia, or Oil Be with You in Apple Blossom Time," by Tim Koenig, will be presented at 7 p.m. on March 2 and at 2 p.m. on March 3 at the City Auditorium, Carthage.
A free-will offering will be accepted. Following the production, there will be pie and ice cream. Supplemental funding will be from the Miner-McCook Branch of Thrivent. Proceeds will be used to build a fence for the outfield of the softball field at the city park.
The production has a cast of 11 and is directed by Lorelee Nelson. The cast includes Dawn Hamilton, Charlie Unterbrunner, JoDene Darnell, Travis Bornitz, Colin Wunder, Kathy Faber, Sandra Austerman, Troy Hamilton, Tim Nelson, Nancy Bornitz and Mary Unterbrunner. Lights, sound and staging are by Kris Magerko, Voni Durant and Lenora Barrick. Myrna Miller is in charge of recruiting pie bakers.
Storm dates are March 9 and 10 at 7 and 2 p.m.
