Carnegie building, historical society celebrate anniversaries
The 110th anniversary of the Carnegie Library Building and the 25th anniversary of the Mitchell Area Historical Society will be celebrated beginning at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, at the Carnegie Resource Center, MItchell.
There will be an open house at 2 p.m. with a 2:30 p.m. ribbon cutting to honor the dedication of the building. A special postal cancellation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Cake and refreshments will be served during the open house.
At 5:30 p.m., serving will begin for the barbecue pork feed. Tickets are $12.50 in advance and $15 at the door. Reservations for the pork feed can be made by calling the center at 996-3209 or by emailing Pam@mitchellcarnegie.com.
