Butte-Lawrence County Fair kicks off Tuesday
NISLAND (AP) — The annual Butte-Lawrence County Fair kicks off Tuesday in Nisland.
The Black Hills Pioneer reports that the joint county fair has entertained locals for more than 30 years, but the Butte County Fair reaches back further to 1921.
Events include livestock exhibitions, the beef show, a free community barbecue, live music, children's activities and a youth rodeo. The fair runs through Saturday.
Butte County Commissioner James Ager says its' a good time in a relaxing environment.
4-H members in preparation for the event cleaned the fairgrounds and put a fresh coat of white paint on the buildings.
