Bundling home, car insurance saves South Dakotans average of $242 per year
SAN FRANCISCO — South Dakota residents who purchase car and home insurance from the same company receive an average discount of $242 per year, the 37th-highest in the country, according to a new insuranceQuotes.com report.
Nationally, purchasing auto and homeowner's insurance from the same company provides an average savings of $270 per year, a 15 percent discount.
The average savings for combining car and condo insurance is 11 percent. Consumers who bundle car and renter's insurance receive an average discount of 8 percent, according to the study.
The states with the highest average savings, according to the report, are: Louisiana $505, Oklahoma $468, Texas $435, Mississippi $422 and Missouri $366.
