Lyman County Farmers Union has awarded a $300 scholarship to Bailey Lulf.

Lulf is the daughter of Dale and Sherry Lulf and the granddaughter of the late Ronald "Red" and RuthAnn McMannus, of Reliance. She is a graduate of Lyman County High School and will attend South Dakota State University this fall, where she will pursue a degree in counseling.

Throughout high school, Lulf participated in volleyball, competition cheerleading, football cheerleading, band, choir, drama and track. She was recognized with the South Dakota National Sports Academics All-State honor and is a teen adviser for the local chapter of the Modern Woodmen of America. She also enjoys helping on her grandpa's farm.

"I have learned the farming business from working cows to pulling weeds in the tree belt. This has taught me a good work ethic," Lulf said.
