Area institutions receive DAR grants
The board of directors of the Mary Chilton Daughters of the American Revolution Foundation recently awarded grants in the amount of $30,064.40.
Area grants were made to:
• Friends of the Middle Border/ Dakota Discovery Museum, MItchell, for the comprehensive doll collection assessment report project.
• Historical Society of Delmont for improvements to the Delmont Pumphouse Museum.
• Scotland Historical Society to assist with window and electrical repairs and updates, masonry on chalkrock and painting of the Chalkrock Church and Semantel Church.
The foundation was created by the Mary Chilton Chapter, Sioux Falls, of the National Society of the DAR, to support historic preservation, education and patriotism.
