LAKE ANDES -- Kellie Winckler tallied 15 kills, 16 digs and four blocks to help Andes Central upset Wagner, Class A's No. 1-ranked team, in five sets in high school volleyball action Thursday in Lake Andes.

Set scores were 14-25, 25-21, 25-23, 19-25, 18-16.

Krista Winckler recorded 10 kills and eight blocks for the Eagles. Dennisha Johanneson had 12 kills, Latasha Dion had seven digs and Sierra Svatos recorded 43 assists and three blocks in the win.

Wagner, which won the JV game, was led by Nicole Weber with 25 kills, 18 digs and 10 aces. The Red Raiders got eight kills from Jessa Doom, who also finished with 40 assists, 12 digs and six aces. Sydney Breen had 21 digs.

Andes Central improved to 21-3 with the win and takes on Bridgewater-Emery Tuesday in Lake Andes. Wagner (21-3) faces Winner Tuesday in Winner.

Bon Homme 3, Corsica/Stickney 0

CORSICA -- The Bon Homme high school volleyball team went on the road and took down Corsica/Stickney 3-0 Thursday night in Corsica. Set scores were 25-22, 25-22, 25-18.

Jody Kriz led Bon Homme with 24 digs and eight service aces. Emily Pechous and Caitlin McLouth each tallied eight kills. Pechous also had 17 digs and McClouth had a match-high six blocks. Alie Adams led the team with 19 assists and Shawna Rezac finished with 10 digs.

Hope Menning recorded six kills and nine digs for Corsica/Stickney. Brianna Kuyper led the team with nine assists and Missy Johnson had a team-high 15 digs.

Bon Homme (12-10) takes on Parkston Tuesday in Parkston, while Corsica/Stickney (7-12) faces Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Monday in Stickney.

Dakota Christian 3, Mitchell Christian 1

NEW HOLLAND -- Dakota Christian defeated Mitchell Christian 3-1 in high school volleyball action Thursday in New Holland. Set scores were 25-23, 14-25, 25-17, 25-11.

Amber BaanHofman and Brooklyn VanderPol each finished with eight kills for Dakota Christian. BaanHofman also led the team in digs with six. Germaine Big Crow recorded eight assists and five digs.

Ellie Bleeker tallied seven kills, six blocks and nine digs for Mitchell Christian. Brittany Zoss led the Eagles with 12 digs and five aces. Emily Schrag had 14 assists, 10 digs and three aces.

Dakota Christian improved to 8-13 and takes on Wolsey-Wessington Monday in New Holland, while Mitchell Christian (2-14) takes on Corsica/Stickney on Oct. 22 in Stickney.

Chamberlain 3, Platte-Geddes 0

PLATTE -- The Chamberlain Cubs volleyball team picked up a road victory Thursday night, defeating Platte-Geddes 3-0 in Platte. Set scores were 25-13, 25-21, 25-21.

Logan Pickner and Laura Pazour both finished with eight kills in the win. Alex Pederson had 11 digs and three aces, Jaymee Knippling recorded three aces and three blocks, Abbey Handel had 13 digs and nine assists and Kennedy Wagner had nine assists.

Platte-Geddes, which won the JV match, was led by Kelly Knudson with 16 digs, 11 kills and two blocks. Kelli Sprik had 20 assists, Shelby Rabenberg had 10 digs and seven kills and Maddy Tegethoff had 13 digs.

Chamberlain (17-3) takes on White River for its next game Tuesday in Chamberlain. Platte-Geddes (13-6) plays Tripp-Delmont/Armour Monday in Armour.

Gregory 3, South Central 2

BURKE -- Gregory came out on top of a five-set battle with South Central in high school volleyball action Thursday in Burke. Set scores were 14-25, 25-21, 27-25, 11-25, 15-11.

Cheyenne Salonen had 15 digs for Gregory in the win. Desiree Stephen had 23 digs and Sierra Thomas had 23 assists.

For South Central, Whitney Hutchison had 15 kills, Tess Bentz had nine digs, Ashley Green had four blocks, Courtney Dummer recorded six aces and Shailhyn Schweigert had 18 assists.

Gregory improved to 11-8 with the win and takes on West Boyd, Neb., Tuesday in West Boyd. South Central, which won the JV match, dropped to 8-10 and takes on Kimball/White Lake Tuesday in White Lake.

Mount Vernon/Plankinton 3, Canistota 1

CANISTOTA -- After dropping the first set, Mount Vernon/Plankinton battled back to beat Canistota 3-1 in high school volleyball action Thursday in Canistota. Set scores were 19-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-22.

Megan Bultsma had 11 kills and two blocks in the win for MVP. Haley Haak had 23 digs, Kallyn Prangley had 22 digs and nine assists, Jazmin Waite had seven kills and three aces and Mikayla Weiss finished with 14 assists. MVP also won the JV match.

Canistota was led by Chloe Nielsen with nine kills, three blocks, 12 assists and 11 digs. Morgan Larson had a team-high 22 digs, while Brianna Buseman led the team with eight blocks.

MVP improved to 11-10 and takes on Parkston Tuesday in Parkston. Canistota (5-17) faces Menno Tuesday in Menno.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 3, Kimball 0

KIMBALL -- Rachel Moore recorded 25 digs to lead Sanborn Central/Woonsocket to a 3-0 victory over Kimball in high school volleyball action Thursday. Set scores were 25-11, 25-8, 25-19.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket's Marissa Weber had 13 kills, four aces and 10 digs. Morgan Selland had five kills and Candace Page-Marten recorded 19 set assists.

Kimball's Anna Pazour had 16 digs and three aces and Haley Pazour recorded 10 kills and one block, Emily Sinclair had 11 digs and Cassie Natvig had 10 assists.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (16-5) also won the JV game and plays Corsica-Stickney Monday, while Kimball (4-15) hosts Platte-Geddes Tuesday.

Hanson 3, Ethan 0

ALEXANDRIA -- The Hanson volleyball team defeated Ethan in straight sets Thursday in Alexandria.

Set scores were 25-14, 25-18, 25-18.

Hanson's Kynedi Cheeseman had nine kills and two blocks and Kendra Cheeseman recorded 11 set assists, three kills and three aces. Lindsi Dey added eight digs in the win.

Ethan's Anna Mueller had 11 kills and three blocks, Holley Lindeman added 16 set assists and Whitney Endres recorded 19 digs.

Hanson (16-6) hosts Scotland Monday, while Ethan (13-8) hosts Avon Monday.

Marion 3, Viborg-Hurley 1

MARION -- Kylie Hughes had 17 kills and 21 digs to lead the Marion volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Viborg-Hurley Thursday.

Set scores were 25-14, 20-25, 25-19, 25-16.

Marion's Katherin Luke recorded 25 set assists, 15 digs and one ace. Josie Schmidt tallied 11 kills, six digs, three aces and one block.

Marion (21-3) also won the JV match and hosts Alcester/Hudson Monday, while Viborg-Hurley (17-6) plays Irene-Wakonda Tuesday in Wakonda.

Wessington Springs 3,

Wolsey-Wessington 1

WESSINGTON SPRINGS -- Wessington Springs dropped the first set but came back to win 3-1 against Wolsey-Wessington in high school volleyball action Thursday.

Set scores were 19-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23.

Wessington Springs' Traci Orth and Sheyanne Brodkorb had four aces apiece. Orth added nine blocks and six digs in the win. Cassidy Musick had nine kills and Haley Reider recorded 27 set assists. Shyanne Kopfmann had six digs.

No stats were available for Wolsey-Wessington.

Wessington Springs (8-14) plays James Valley Christian Tuesday, Wolsey-Wessington (10-10) plays Dakota Christian Monday in New Holland.

Lyman 3, Philip 1

PRESHO -- Anna Flitner had 23 kills, 16 digs and four blocks as Lyman defeated Philip 3-1 in high school volleyball action Thursday in Presho. Set scores were 25-17, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Bailey Almond added 31 assists and 14 digs for Lyman. Hanna Thiry, Sara Herman and Haley Halverson all recorded two aces in the win.

Lyman (11-10) takes on Highmore-Harrold Tuesday in Presho.

Scotland 3,

Tripp-Delmont/Armour 2

SCOTLAND -- Trailing by two sets, the Scotland High School volleyball team rallied to beat Tripp-Delmont/Armour 3-2 Thursday in Scotland. Set scores were 23-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-13, 15-10.

Amber Alvey have 28 assists, 21 digs and four aces in the win. Kennidy Asche had 12 kills, 27 digs and eight blocks. Christy Mogck recorded 54 digs.

Kelli Batterman had 26 digs and 11 kills for TDA in the loss. LaNae Fuerst had 34 digs and five aces, Jessica Sandau had 17 assists, 14 digs and four aces and Hannah Just finished with nine kills and 23 digs.

Scotland improved to 11-8 with the win and takes on Hanson Monday in Alexandria. TDA (6-12) takes on Platte-Geddes Monday in Armour.

Parker 3, Parkston 0

PARKSTON -- Parker defeated Parkston 3-0 in high school volleyball action Thursday in Parkston. Set scores were 25-15, 25-9, 25-9.

Stats were not reported despite attempts to reach coaches.

White River 3, Colome 1

COLOME -- White River defeated Colome 3-1 in a high school volleyball match Thursday in Colome. Set scores were 25-19, 30-28, 22-25, 25-23.
