HOWARD -- Howard recorded 501 rushing yards in a 51-23 first-round 9AA high school playoff football game win over Elkton-Lake Benton Tuesday.

Howard's leading rusher was Luke Loudenburg, who recorded 23 carries for 239 yards and two touchdowns. Cole Potter rushed for 20 yards on nine carries and four touchdowns. Defensively, Evan Donahue recorded 13 tackles and one interception in the win. Hunter Eggert added 12 tackles.

Howard is 7-2 going into the second round of playoffs Monday.

Nick Delaney led Elkton-Lake Benton with 20 attempts for 90 yards. Trevan Farnham was 2-of-5 passing for 19 yards, while Heath Schindler was 1-of-2 passing for 51 yards. The Elks recorded 210 rushing yards and 70 passing yards. Delaney and Nathan Krog each had 13 tackles.

Elkton-Lake Benton finished the season at 5-4.

Canistota 54, Hanson 0

CANISTOTA -- Cody Bunger was part of five touchdowns to lead Canistota over Hanson 54-0 in a 9A first-round playoff game Tuesday. The game was called at halftime due to the mercy rule.

Bunger was the leading rusher for the Hawks with 115 yards on six carries. Bunger completed 5 of 6 passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns.

Alex Robertson rushed for 80 yards on 11 attempts in the win.

Nick Hofer recorded 97 yards on three receptions for Canistota.

Defensively, Boone DeKramer and Jason VanWinkle recorded eight tackles each. Tyler Decker added six tackles. VanWinkle had two sacks.

Canistota remains undefeated at 9-0 going into the second round of playoffs Monday.

Tyler Pringle led Hanson's offense with 24 rushing yards on eight carries and 24 passing yards with one completion on four attempts. Mason Mayer and Jacob Paradeis led the defensive effort. Individual defensive stats were unavailable.

WINNER -- The Winner Warriors remain undefeated at 9-0 with a 51-6 win over Bon Homme in the first round of 11B playoffs Tuesday.

Kyle Bertram led Winner's offense with seven carries for 191 yards and two touchdowns. Trace Meyer had 11 carries for 103 yards and three touchdowns. Tanner Fritz was 2-of-3 passing for 18 yards. Meyer had one reception for five yards. Isiah Old Lodge had one reception for 13 yards. Meyer recorded 11 tackles, one interception and one sack. Adam Farner added 11 tackles.

Sawyer Fridrich recorded four carries for 18 yards for the Cavaliers. Dakota Bodden was 11-of-20 passing for 92 yards and two interceptions. Fridrich had seven catches for 69 yards. Bon Homme finished the season 4-5.

HURLEY -- Viborg-Hurley advances to the second round of playoffs with a 64-14 win over Marion Tuesday in a 9B playoff game.

Tyler Gerdes was the leading rusher for the Cougars with 142 yards on nine carries.

Jack Huether completed 6 of 9 passes for 255 yards. Trevor Jacobsen recorded 134 yards on two receptions, while Andrew Hora recorded 54 yards on two receptions. Tyler Novak led the defense with seven unassisted tackles. Huether added six unassisted tackles and one interception.

No stats were available for Marion.

A scoring summary was not available.

Colome 52, Bison 0

COLOME -- Terrance Kinzer had a hand in three touchdowns to help Colome rout Bison 52-0 Tuesday in the first round of the 9B high school playoffs.

Kinzer had three rushes for 128 yards and two touchdowns. He was 1-for-1 passing for 15 yards and a touchdown to Cohl Ratterman. He also tied for a team-high with six tackles and added an interception.

Also for Colome, Andrew Odden had 10 carries for 130 yards and one touchdown and Brandon Houf had four carries for 44 yards and one touchdown. Reed Harter had a 13-yard touchdown run and an interception.

Colome is 8-1 and advances to the quarterfinals, which are played Monday.

Bison (4-5) finished with 88 yards of total offense in the loss.

Kimball/White Lake 41, Parker 14

WHITE LAKE -- Jacob Kirsch and Trevor Reinesch dominated in the ground game to lift Kimball/White Lake past Parker 41-14 in the first round of the 9AA playoffs Tuesday night.

Kirsch had 21 carries for 226 yards and three touchdowns and Reinesch had 19 carries for 137 yards and two touchdowns.

Reinesch also caught six passes for 55 yards and a second-quarter TD and had a team-high nine tackles.

Quarterback Jesse Taylor was 8-of-16 passing for 62 yards, leading the WiLdKats to 15 first downs and no turnovers.

Turner Blasius added seven tackles and one sack. Kimball/White Lake finished with 43 rushes for 369 yards.

Parker finished with 39 carries for 144 yards. Quarterback Seth Dykstra was 2-of-5 passing for 17 yards and Alec Dagel had 10 tackles to lead the defense.

Kimball White/Lake (9-0) advances to Monday's quarterfinal round.

Avon 60, Centerville 20

AVON -- Brandon Kocmich had 12 rushes for 193 yards and four touchdowns to lead Avon past Centerville 60-20 in a 9A first-round high school playoff game Tuesday.

Avon, which finished with 296 rushing yards and 27 passing yards, led 44-6 at halftime. Logan Mudder completed one pass to Kole Beeson for 27 yards in the game. The completion went for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Devin Tolsma and Taylor Mudder each finished with eight tackles for Avon, which moved to 6-3 on the second and advanced to the quarterfinal round Monday.

Centerville's Seamus O'Malley completed 11 of 22 passes for 193 yards and Ty Knutson caught five passes for 85 yards. Centerville finished with 259 yards of total offense to Avon's 323. Centerville finished its season 5-4.

EAGLE BUTTE --Chamberlain picked up its third win of the year, knocking off Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 27-0 in an 11A first-round high school playoff game Tuesday night.

Russell Felicia had 25 attempts for 137 yards and two touchdowns for the Cubs, who are 3-6 and advance to the quarterfinals Monday.

Chris Schwartz had nine rushes for 24 yards, a touchdown and an interception return for a score. Under center, he was 2-for-13 passing for eight yards.

Chamberlain had 199 rushing yards to Cheyenne-Eagle Butte's eight.

Defensively for the Cubs, Jami Walters had a team-high 12 tackles, Dalton Andera added six tackles and Lucas Daley had five tackles.
