AREA BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Huber leads Hanson to win over Menno
ALEXANDRIA -- Matt Huber had a double-double to lead Hanson over Menno 51-36 in a high school boys' basketball game Thursday.
Huber scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Sam Vander Stouwe added 11 points. Trey Person scored 10 points and had five assists.
Hanson shot 23-of-42 from the field and 8-of-12 from the free-throw line. The Beavers totaled 37 team rebounds and seven turnovers.
Austin Herrboldt scored 10 points for the Wolves. Derek Lehr added nine points.
Menno shot 16-of-43 from the field and 2-of-6 from the free-throw line. The Wolves recorded 20 team rebounds and committed 12 turnovers.
Hanson (3-0) plays at Avon Saturday. Menno (0-2) plays Freeman Academy Thursday in Freeman.

TYNDALL -- Mount Vernon/Plankinton picked up a win on the road with a 59-40 defeat of Bon Homme.
Kellam Karst scored 11 points for the Titans. Jared Long and Deric Denning added 10 points apiece.
Kodi Larson led the Cavaliers with 13 points. Les Jelsma added seven points. Bon Homme shot 14-of-59 from the field and 11-of-22 from the free-throw line. The Cavaliers committed 17 turnovers.

Blake Bartscher scored 16 points for the Rustlers and recorded 10 assists and two steals. Anthony Huber added 12 points and led the team with 10 rebounds. Colton Bierle scored nine points. Brandon Andersen had eight rebounds while Jace Connor led the team with nine assists.
Ethan shot 22-of-54 for 41 percent from the field and 10-of-14 for 71 percent from the free-throw line. The Rustlers totaled 31 team rebounds and had 11 turnovers.
Dakota Christian was led by Carter Dykstra with 12 points. The Cadets shot 14-of-46 for 30 percent from the field and 13-of-17 for 76 percent from the free-throw line. DC recorded 28 team rebounds and six turnovers.

GREGORY -- Colome came back from a third quarter deficit to defeat Gregory 47-43 Thursday.
Cohl Ratermann scored 18 points and had nine rebounds in the win. Reed Harter added 13 points.
Colome shot 15-of-46 from the field and 16-of-28 from the free-throw line. The Cowboys had 35 team rebounds and committed 13 turnovers.
Colome is 1-1 and hosts Cody-Kilgore (Neb.) Saturday.
Mitchell Klundt scored 15 points for Gregory. Gregory went 15-of-47 from the field and 5-of-9 from the free-throw line.
Johny Combs recorded seven of the team's 27 rebounds. Gregory totaled 20 turnovers in the loss.

ARMOUR -- Sanborn Central/Woonsocket had three players score in double digits as the Blackhawks defeated Tripp-Delmont/Armour 58-35 Thursday.
Nick Miller was the leading scorer for SCW with 18 points. Todd Stekl added 13 points and Davion Brooks recorded 10 points. Miller had six rebounds.
SCW shot 21-of-51 from the field for 39 percent and made 13 free throws of 19 attempts for 68 percent. The Blackhawks recorded 26 team rebounds and 14 turnovers.
SCW is 2-0 and hosts Howard Monday in Forestburg.
Tripp-Delmont/Armour's Trevor Payer scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Nighthawks. Cody Hrdlicka added nine points. Austin Barlow led the team with seven steals and five assist.
TDA shot 13-of-36 for 36 percent from the field and made 7-of-15 free throws. The Nighthawks totaled 14 rebounds and accumulated 21 turnovers.

Braden Jones was the high scorer for Wessington Springs with nine points. Deion Sails added six points. Zac Paulson recorded four of the Spartans' 23 rebounds. Jevon Hohn had two assists in the loss.
Wessington Springs went 9-of-34 from the field and 7-of-16 from the free-throw line.

McKenzie Schultz had 11 rebounds of the team's 33 rebounds. The Huskies committed 11 turnovers.
