Corsica - Anita Alvina Louise Reimnitz, 90, died at the Good Samaritan Society in Corsica on Thursday, May 1, 2014. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Dimock, SD with burial following in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Dimock. Visitation will be Monday, May 5, 2014 from 6 - 8 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Dimock with a prayer service at 8:00 PM. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Anita Alvina Louise Reimnitz was born on December 6, 1923 to Ernst and Louisa (Koehlmoos) Gemelke in Pilger, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Pilger and attended country school in Stanton County, NE. She married George Reimnitz on June 20, 1948 in Pilger, NE. Together they farmed west of Dimock, SD for 20 years. In 1967, they moved to a farm east of Corsica, SD where she lived until she moved to Prairie Villa in Armour, SD in 2012. George died on June 27, 2007. Anita was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church west of Dimock. She was a hard worker and was known for her huge gardens. She also enjoyed crocheting and reading. Her children and grandchildren will always remember her homemade salsa, pickles, cookies, and chocolate brownies. In March of 2014, she became a resident of Good Samaritan Society in Corsica where she died on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the age of 90.

She is survived by 8 children, Russell (Gladys) Reimnitz of Mitchell, SD, Karin (Howard) Mueller of Milbank, SD, Marjean (Larry) Moeller of Mitchell, SD, Douglas (Bonnie) Reimnitz of Corsica, SD, Joyce (Ira) Van Drongelen of Harrison, SD, David (Jane) Reimnitz of Sioux Falls, SD, James (Dawn Steen) Reimnitz of Sioux Falls, SD, and Sheila (Luke) Schafer of Gillette, WY, sister, Mildred Janulewicz, sister-in-law, Bernitha Gemelke, brother-in-law, Robert Bruggeman, 33 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 26 great-grandchildren, and 4 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, 2 brothers, Herbert and Emil Gemelke, and 3 sisters, Gertrude Vollmer, Wilhelma Kemper, and Viola Bruggeman.
