Parkston Angeline Anna Bowar, 89, died Wednesday, October 23 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston. Funeral mass will be Monday, October 28 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Visitation will be Sunday, October 27 from 5 to 7 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

Angeline Anna Bowar was born November 26, 1923 to Charles and Anna (Kummer) Weber in Parkston, SD. She attended Sacred Heart Parochial School and graduated from Parkston High School. She was united in marriage to Norbert Bowar on March 5, 1944 at Camp Pendleton, Virginia during World War II. He was shipped overseas the next day and Angeline returned to Parkston. When Norbert returned home, they lived on a farm near Dimock, SD and later moved to their farm 2 1/4 miles north of Parkston. Angeline worked at the ASCS office in Parkston over 20 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, making quilts, sewing, embroidering, and cooking. She also enjoyed playing cards and Dominoes with friends and neighbors. Angeline went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston at the age of 89.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband, Norbert of Parkston; a daughter, Marcia (Ron) Mettler of Menno, SD; a son, Dennis (Dorothy) Bowar of Parkston; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Schoenfelder of Deadwood, SD; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents;; a grandchild, Brett Mettler; a great-grandchild, Aaron Wenisch; a sister, Regina Tarrell; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
