Amateur baseball roundup: Mudcats win two on road
CHAMBERLAIN — The Parkston Mudcats won a pair of amateur baseball games Sunday.
The Mudcats (12-2) topped Chamberlain 3-1 and Kimball/White Lake 9-0.
In the win over Chamberlain, Trevor Kuiper was the winning pitcher. He gave up four hits, struck out six and walked one in six innings.
Jeff Harris had a double and the Mudcats recorded six hits.
In the win over Kimball/White Lake, Fish got the win on the mound, striking out 10 and giving up one hit in five innings.
Dan Bonte had three singles and Jeff Harris, Fish and Beau Behrend each had a double and single in the win.
No other stats were available.
Parkston (12-2) plays Mount Vernon at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Tripp-Delmont 11, Parkston Bullheads 2DIMOCK — Tripp-Delmont’s Tyler Payer recorded eight strikeouts in an 11-2 win over the Parkston Bullheads Sunday in a Sunshine League amateur baseball game.
Payer was the winning pitcher, giving up one run on five hits.
Dylan Peters recorded four hits with a double and four RBIs, Tom Heisinger added three singles and two RBIs and Brandon Auch and Jeff Friman had two hits apiece in the win.
Mark Reischl was the losing pitcher and added two hits for the Bullheads.
Tripp-Delmont (1-4) plays Plankinton 8 p.m. Tuesday in Delmont, while the Bullheads face the Parkston Mudcats at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Dimock/Emery 4, Corsica/Stickney 1EMERY — Dimock/Emery’s Kyle Larson had 14 strikeouts to lift the Raptors to a 4-1 win over Corsica/Stickney Sunday in a Sunshine League amateur baseball game.
Larson got the win, giving up one run on three hits in nine innings, and Jason Schmidt had three hits including a double and triple.
The losing pitcher was Steve Blom, giving up three runs in four innings. Kris Menning recorded a double and an RBI in the loss.
Dimock/Emery (11-3) hosts the Sioux Falls Saints at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Emery. The Raptors’ next Sunshine League game is against Alexandria at 8 p.m. Thursday in Emery.
Corsica/Stickney hosts Tripp-Delmont at 8 p.m. Thursday.
** The Sunshine League amateur baseball game between Alexandria and the Mitchell Mad Dogs has been postponed. The game was scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday at Cadwell Park in Mitchell and has yet to be rescheduled.
