Alexandria tops Groton, advances to quarterfinals

SIOUX FALLS — The Alexandria Angels rode the arm and bat of Tyson Gau to take a 7-0 win over Groton in the second round of the Class B state amateur baseball tournament Tuesday.

Gau pitched eight innings, giving up no runs and four hits, while striking out seven. Gau also went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in the win.
