4-H Achievement Days begin today
The Davison County 4-H Achievement Days will begin at 9 a.m. today at the Davison County Fairgrounds in Mitchell. The opening activity is the dog show. The cat show follows, starting at 11 a.m.
From 1 to 3 p.m., open class exhibits will be entered, and from 4 to 7 p.m. there will be interview judging of the 4-H display indoor exhibits.
Cats will be released at 8 p.m., and from 7 to 9 p.m. all 4-H livestock will be entered.
Wednesday will have entry of 4-H feeder calves and rabbits and poultry starting at 7:30 a.m. Judging of rabbits will take place as entered and poultry will be judged immediately following the rabbits. At 9 a.m., the indoor exhibit area will be opened to the public. The 4-H beef show will begin at 11 a.m., and at 4 p.m. the 4-H dairy, dairy goat and meat goat show will be held. The community barbecue will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $7.50 for adults and $4 for kids 10 and under.
At the door, tickets are $8.50 for adults and $4.50 for youth.
The 4-H fashion revue will be held at 6 p.m., followed at 7:30 p.m. by the 4-H sheep show.
Thursday, indoor exhibits will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to noon. The 4-H swine show will be held at 9 a.m., followed by the 4-H round robin showmanship contest, which will immediately follow the swine show.
Release of 4-H livestock, 4-H display exhibits and open class exhibits and clean up will take place following the round robin.
