35K still without power after storm pounds SD
SIOUX FALLS (AP) -- Xcel Energy says approximately 35,000 customers in South Dakota are still without power after a winter storm walloped the area.
James Wilcox with Xcel says crews have been able to restore power to an estimated 25,000 people but adverse weather conditions are creating new outages.
More than 230 crew members from South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota and contractors from Iowa are working to restore electricity to those in south central and southeastern South Dakota. The crew will increase to 350 by Thursday.
