Lyman reaches District 13B championship

MURDO -- The Lyman volleyball team defeated Crazy Horse and upset No. 1-seeded White River in five sets in the District 13B tournament Tuesday.

Lyman will play in the championship match against Jones County at 7 p.m. today in Murdo.

Lyman beat Crazy Horse in the first round 25-3, 25-8, 25-9. Anna Flitner led all players with 14 kills and Bailey Almond had 17 set assists and nine aces.

Lyman defeated White River 25-10, 14-25, 25-17, 25-27, 19-17.

Flitner had 16 kills and 34 digs in the win. Jessica Welter added 15 kills and 14 blocks and Chesney Garnos tallied 18 set assists and four aces.

DWU men's soccer begins GPAC tournament today

HASTINGS, Neb. -- The No. 8-seeded Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team plays No. 1-seeded Hastings College in the opening round of the Great Plains Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament.

The game is set for 7 p.m. today in Hastings, Neb.

The Tigers are 5-11-2 overall and 3-5-2 in the GPAC. Hastings is 12-6 overall and 9-1 in conference play.

This is the second meeting this season, and DWU lost to Hastings 5-1 earlier in the season.
