MOUNT VERNON — Luke Loudenburg rushed for 182 yards and had six touchdowns to lead Howard over Mount Vernon/Plankinton 54-27 Friday in high school football action.

Howard outrushed the Titans 319-221, but Mount Vernon/Plankinton outgained the Tigers in the air 86-50.

Howard’s Gunner Gilbertson completed 4 of 7 passes for 50 yards and one touchdown. Jordan Kuhle had 13 carries for 87 yards and 9.5 tackles. David Weidler had one reception for 21 yards and a score.

For the Titans, Deric Denning threw for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Tate Deinert had two carries for 80 yards and touchdown, while Cote Hinker had nine carries for 85 yards and a score. Marcus Anderson led all receivers with 32 yards and a touchdown. Cody Renken tallied 10.5 tackles in the loss.

The Titans (0-3) play at Freeman Friday, while Howard (3-0) plays Menno/Marion Friday in Marion.

CANISTOTA — Nick Gortmaker scored on a 10-yard run on the first play of overtime to help the Menno/Marion Razorbacks upset Canistota 34-28 Friday.

Coming into the game Canistota was ranked third in the Class 9B polls.

The 10-yard run was one of Gortmaker’s three touchdowns. The Menno/Marion quarterback added 160 rushing yards. Running back Chet Peterson chipped in with 141 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Nick Hofer led Canistota with 116 rushing yards and one touchdown. He also had 17 tackles on defense. Carson Hofer added 39 rushing yards and two touchdowns for the Hawks.

Menno/Marion (3-0) hosts Howard Friday in Marion, while Canistota (2-2) hosts Avon Friday.

GREGORY — Gregory tallied 295 rushing yards en route to beating Marty 62-6 in a high school football game Friday. The game was called at halftime due to the mercy rule.

Robert Vomacka had six carries for 172 yards and two touchdowns, while Kurt Braun had two carries for 36 yards and a touchdown in the win. Braun completed 2 of 2 passes for 33 yards and a score. Sean Kafka recorded seven tackles and an interception, while Triv Vosika had six tackles.

For Marty, freshman Darius Two Bull was 6-for-21 in passing for 130 yards and a touchdown. Isaiah Heth had a game-high 12 tackles.

Gregory (2-1) plays Burke/South Central Friday, while Marty (1-3) plays Tripp-Delmont/Armour Friday in Tripp.

Brandon Kocmich had a game-high 137 rushing yards and had four touchdowns in the win. Chase Frank and Logan Mudder also recorded touchdowns for the Pirates, who totaled 261 yards on the ground. Devin Tolsma led defensively with 12 tackles.

For the Nighthawks, quarterback Shane Koster connected with Thierno Diop for a 53-yard reception. Alex Fischer recorded 4.5 tackles.

Avon (3-0) plays at Canistota Friday, while the Nighthawks (0-3) host Marty Indian Friday.

STICKNEY — Eli VanRoekel had 173 rushing yards and two touchdowns to lead Corsica/Stickney past Freeman 46-6 Friday.

VanRoekel also had a 47-yard receiving touchdown in the second quarter.

Brian Joachim connected on five passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns, including a 66-yarder to Austin Tilton in the first. Joachim also had 51 yards on the ground.

Freeman was led by Cole Paulson with 31 yards on 16 carries and seven tackles.

LAKE ANDES — Tim Bodden had 16 carries for 160 yards and two touchdowns to lead Scotland to a 14-8 victory over Andes Central Friday.

Anthony Walloch led Scotland on defense with 11 tackles.

Andes Central was led by Zach Cournoyer and Joey Evans. Cournoyer ran for 92 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries. Evans had 87 yards on 10 carries.

EMERY — The Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan football team defeated Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian 46-0 Friday.

Wade Miller and Jordan Grosdidier led the Seahawks’ rushing attack. Miller had 120 yards on 13 carries, while Grosdidier tallied 101 yards on 10 carries.

Miller scored three touchdowns, including a 50-yard run and a 72-yard pass from Blake Bartscher. J.D. Shape and Ethan Riggs led the BEE defense with nine tackles apiece.

Coby Johnson recorded 103 passing yards in the loss. Nate Spawn and Micah DeWaard each had 10 tackles.

Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan (3-1) plays Hanson Friday in Alexandria, while the Black Panthers (2-2) host Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central in Platte.

COLTON — Dakota Bodden had 151 yards rushing and 59 yards passing to help Bon Homme defeat Tri-Valley 19-0 Friday.

Bon Homme gave up 18 yards on the ground to Tri-Valley, who received votes this week in the Class 11B polls.

Kortan also had four catches for 50 yards and a touchdown, while Young had 41 yards on five carries and a score. Scott Van Winkle was 1-for-1 for 21 yards through the air and one touchdown. Levi Dockendorf had eight tackles to lead the way for the Bon Homme defense.

Tri-Valley was led by Austin Van Asselt with 58 yards on 18 carries.

The Cavaliers (2-2) host Sioux Falls Christian Oct. 4 in Tyndall.

For McCook Central/Montrose, Tyler Cleveland had 15 carries for 61 yards and Tim Gassman had five receptions for 62 yards.

McCook Central/Montrose (0-3) plays at Elk Point-Jefferson Friday night, while Beresford (3-1) plays at Wagner Friday.
