'BRINGING DIGNITY TO WOMEN' EVENT: The public is invited to attend an event dedicated to raise awareness of human trafficking and domestic violence on Sunday at the Chamberlain I-90 rest area between exits 263 and 265. The free event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. beneath Dale Lamphere's sculpture, Dignity, and will feature speakers, music and a community meal. Organizers chose to host the event along Interstate 90 near the sculpture, Dignity, because of her representation of women's fight to achieve dignity.

CLEARFIELD HALL CELEBRATES 100 YEARS: Clearfield Hall celebrates its 100th anniversary today with games, wagon rides, and music from 3 to 8 p.m. The hall was established in 1918 and built from donations and stock membership sales. In 1985, the hall was in desperate need of repair so Gen Fast and a group of her friends held multiple fundraisers to acquire funds to restore the building. Throughout 100 years the hall has been used for dances, birthday parties, voting location and family reunions.

BUFFALO COUNTY RECEIVES GRANT FOR BRUSH TRUCK: The United States Department of Agriculture announced it is investing $17.4 million in 41 rural projects in 22 states. Buffalo County and the town of Dupree projects in South Dakota are set to receive $173,000 from the department. The Buffalo County Rural Fire Protection District #1 will receive a $70,400 loan and a $42,000 grant to finance a new brush truck and the Dupree Volunteer Fire Department will receive a $10,000 loan and a $50,000 grant to purchase a pickup chassis, flatbed, motor, tank and pump for a new wildland fire truck and two new heaters for the fire station.
