Another Mitchell Main Street business bites the dust.

According to its website, the Fabric and Textile Warehouse on Fourth Avenue and Main Street is closing its doors permanently. The Daily Republic called the store, which referred us to the owner at another location, but the owner did not return a call from the newspaper.

The announcement states that Willmar, Minnesota, Spencer, Iowa, and Mitchell stores will all be going out of business.

"It is time to close our doors! Come in and shop our going out of business sale," the website reads.

According to the company website, Fabric and Textile Warehouse has been in Mitchell since 1979. The announcement does not say when the doors will close for good.

The announcement is one of a handful of recent closures on Mitchell's Main Street. The Brew Parlor, which opened last year, appears to have vacated the premises of its Main Street location. Northwestern Energy also recently opened a new location on Burr Street after serving as a Main Street mainstay.

There is good news, however. After the Moonlight Bar & Lounge closed last year, The Back 40 restaurant is working toward a full renovation on Main Street. The city also installed two new parks last year, one on Sixth Avenue and one on First Avenue.
